ChinazomChukwuemeka has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and is in her final semester for a Master’s degree in Health Informatics. She worked as a web designer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded, mHBB (mobileHelping Babies Breathe) project in partnership with IU School of Medicine and the University of Oxford. Other projects include analyzing trends in congestive heart failure patients at IU Health, patient portal evaluation and a Flu Vaccination and incidence exploration in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia. She recently completed a practicum with IU Health where she designed an improved onboarding process for providers as well as configured a referral management system to improve healthcare within and outside the IU Health network. Currently, she works as a research assistant to map the MIMIC-III database to the OMOP Common data model using an ETL process. Even as she explores full-time opportunities upon graduation, her research interests include EHR system design & enhancement, health IT project management, and business intelligence.
